I had a nice, slow weekend. I really needed it.
I printed out the first couple chapters of PHOENIX and I’ve started doing edits by hand. I like to read through it, marking up the page, and then do the edits on the computer. It seems to work better for me. I hadn’t done it this way in a long time, but I remembered how I had really beefed up my first fantasty story that way (which is still a rewrite-in-progress). So I’m looking forward to spending some time in Elena’s and Cassius’s world.
I also played catch-up on the DVR. I had several backlogged shows. Man came over last night. I cooked chili and we watched our two episodes of Legends of the Seeker. I love that show!
Went to my kiddo’s soccer game on Sunday afternoon and nearly froze to death, too. I bundled myself up in a heavy coat and even wore a hat to keep the wind out. It helped. They played really hard but lost anyway.
Man and I went to Best Buy. I told him I needed him there because I’m not allowed to buy anything. hehe Then we went to Half Price Books and I got a little book about Fantasy Creatures. I thought it could give me some ideas for fanatsy books later on down the line. Never did make it to B&N. Probably a good thing.
And that’s about it for me. Not much to tell and not much going on. I have third round edits of Take Me I’m Yours to get done tonight. I think those should be fairly simple. They’re due Thursday but I want to get them completed today or tomorrow so I can check that off my list of Things To Do.
Happy Monday, ya’ll.
I always go to Half Price first–because if you do it the other way around, you always see that you spent too much at B&N and want to smack yourself in the head…
😉
Plus, Half Price always has these books with “personality.” Love it!
Hope things warm up for you soon! Our Soccer starts up this month. I will be watching from the CAR…
Sounds like a good weekend. I usually do about two hard copies when I’m revising. My first revisions are on the computer though. I find way too many awkward sentences on that first read, and it would drive me nuts not to fix them right away.
