Quote of the Day:
Ah, but a man’s reach should exceed his grasp, Or what’s a heaven for?
– Robert BrowningFortune of the Day:
You are open and honest in your philosophy of love.
Okay, ya’ll RUSH right over to the Resolute Reader for this exclusive interview with Dane Fortune! You won’t want to miss it. 🙂
My dear sweet friend, Leigh, plugged the crap out of Ransom & Fortune in THIS blog entry. I love ya, girl! Thank you for the pluggage.
And also, there’s been lots of press online about the launch of Inara Press. Here’s a couple of the links I found:
The Romance Studio: http://www.theromancestudio.com/who1.php
Romance at Heart Magazine: http://romanceatheart.com/inthenews.html (Scroll about half way down)
And also, the forum is now open for business on Inara’s website. So if you’ve set up an account after pre-ordering your very own serial (have you done it yet?), you can access the Reader Realm by clicking here.
You can log in there and post in my very own Ransom & Fortune thread. Ask questions, post comments, whatever. Hope to see you there!
And of course, don’t forget about my day at SUITE on Saturday! Whew. That’s a lotta stuff going on there, eh?
I got another six chapters done on MAGIC today. WOOHOO! But I feel myself getting very burned out since that’s what I’m focusing all my attention on right now. However, my goal is to get the rewrite completely done by the end of the week. If I can do that, then I’ll be ready to throw it to the wolves, er, I mean, my critique partners for review. I want them to give it a good read-through for plot holes, content, stuff like that. Make sure the storyline makes sense. And yes, I did a major no-no – I flashed-back. I couldn’t help it though. The story NEEDS this flashback in order to make sense. I hope it’s not seen as an info-dump because it could kind of be interpreted that way. But everything that happens in that flashback is relevant to the story. Yes, I’m justifying my flashback. So sue me. 😉
My writing friends have said they were in the “zone†recently and I am totally jealous. I haven’t been able to get into the “zone†in such a long time. I think the last story I did that with was TALK DIRTY TO ME. That book was so much fun to write and I had such a blast doing it. I never thought it would see the light of day (imagine my surprise when Samhain bought it!).
Sometimes I feel like I’m on the verge of getting that zone-age back. You know? Like I’m sitting right on the edge of it but can’t quite reach. I have lots in my head I want to get out on paper, but finding the time to do it all is difficult. I have a hard enough time finding the time to do the edits on the book I’ve been writing for five years (don’t laugh – it really has been five years I’ve been writing that book. It was finished four years ago, but I’ve been tinkering with it ever since…but I digress…)
That goes back to that old saying – If I had more time, I’d have more time. And my week is jam packed with stuff and CRAP I have GOT to do the treasurer’s report this week before the meeting Saturday. So much to do – so little time to do it. At least the newsletter is out the door and in the mail. Thank goodness for that.
One more thing and then I’ll shut it for the day. I’m going to see Phantom of the Opera tonight! I am so excited! I got all my stuff together last night and put it in one place.
Tickets: check
Dress: check
Handbag: check
Shoes: check
But I still can’t decide which shoes – the black Franco Sarto or the silver strappy sandals? Ya’ll help me decide! If you’re still reading this, that is. Okay, post your choice in the comments! (Incidentally, my dress is a black velvet cocktail dress, just above the knee with straps and a lovely jacket that goes with it. There’s a little rhinestone pin in the center of the bust for decoration.)
OR
With the black velvet cocktail dress, you either go with black shoes — OR, if your bag is silver AND you’re wearing silver jewelry, you go with the silver strappy ones.
If the silver shoes are the only silver, it’s going to look fragmented insted of elegant.
You don’t want to look too styled, but you want to look put together.
Even a hair comb with silver in it would compliment the shoes and give you an excuse for them.
I’m for the black shoes.
:rockin:
And thanks in return for the pluggage!
Don’t stress about the “zone”. You’ve got a lot going on – a lot of exciting things! I’m sure your brain is a bit overloaded right now. Just relax, you’ll be fine.
My vote is for the silver strappy sandals!
Every time I get in the “zone” I hear “Mom come watch me beat this bad guy.” … and concentration broke – two minutes later same dern thing… He has school tomorrow and it will be quiet and I will probably sit and stare at the screen for 2 hours! :pcangry:
By the time I read this, you were probably dressed and at the theater. Let us know which shoes you decided to wear!
Even if you have not been in the zone, you have soooo much going on that is productived and positive with your career! You are tying up loose ends now and I am not sure that is a ‘zone’ area. Wait until things are lined out and you will hit it again!
Hope you had fun tonight!
Hey, I have now preordered R & F, read Dane’s interview – great interview! – and read the reviews! You have a lot of good, positive things going! Rock on, Mik!
