Sorry I haven’t been around for a few days. Last week got a way from me. Not that I was doing anything in particular. Just…you know…stuff. 🙂
I’ve decided that this job hunting thing is a little like publishing. You send stuff out and then wait. At least, though, in publishing, you will most likely get a response. In job hunting, there are no such guarantees. I’ve had a few prospects but nothing concrete yet. Hopefully something will turn up soon.
In the meantime, I’ve been writing. I started a new story this week. One of the characters showed up and started talking. I couldn’t ignore her so I started writing. Ten thousand words later… I’m still going. I’ve decided not to do any pre-plotting with this one and just write it as it falls out of my head. I haven’t written anything like that in a while and I’m enjoying it.
This weekend we watched a bunch of movies. Knight and Day was one and actually pretty good. I was surprised. Usually I’m not a Tom Cruise fan but I was wildly entertained with this movie. We also saw No Strings Attachedwith Natalie Portman and Ashton Kutcher. Word of advice: DO NOT waste your money on this one. Horrible. The two leads, who are decent actors, had zero chemistry. (He had more chemistry with Katherine Hiegl in Killers.) And the storyline was just stupid, really. Who wants to want an hour and forty-eight minutes about two people who just want to be friends with benefits? I think the premise was good but the script was terrible and the story was awful. Adam (Kutcher) pines away for the totally unfeeling Emma (Portman) the entire movie. And her unfeeling behavior is never explained. It was annoying. And hard to sit through.
And since Man had never see Forrest Gump all the way through, we rented that, too. I’d forgotten how great that movie was and I always cry during it. heh
We also went to a new Mexican place, El Paseo. To die for. Loved it. Can’t wait to go back.
Today I have two appointments so I’ll be in and out a lot. And it’s HOT. We’ll be in the triple digits by the end of the week. Summer has finally arrived. Blah.
So, how are you?
I saw KNIGHT AND DAY on HBO the other night and enjoyed it, for the most part. Glad I didn’t pay to see it in the theatre, but it was fine for an evening’s entertainment.
Good luck on the appointments, and thanks again for hosting me yesterday!
I really liked Knight and Day as well! It was cute. Way to go on the 10K!
