It came today. Another “Dear Author” letter.
While your proposal has merit, we are forced to give serious consideration to the realities of today’s extremely difficult publishing marketplace when deciding which writers to represent. In order to maintain the service quality our clients deserve and require, we must, regrettably, decline to take on some authors from time to time.

I love that he didn’t even bother to sign the letter. Nor did he bother to address the letter TO ME. So I’m rejecting THEM. Take that! LOL
Oh well. Onward and upward. I’m sure it won’t be the last rejection I’ll ever receive. Certainly isn’t the first!
I still have 7 submissions out there right now. I’m beginning to wonder if I’m wasting my time with this fantasy romance. 😐
Despite thinking I’m a sucky writer, though, I managed to crank out just over 2000 words on Ransom & Fortune. Of course, it wasn’t on a current issue at all. It was on the ending. Yeah, so I wrote the end FIRST. At least I know where I’m going with it. I just need to GET there, though. I opened issue 115 several times and stared at the blank screen. It was pathetic. So I closed it.
Then I visisted some blogs. Oh, and I’m totally addicted to two new ones. Suzanne McMinn has a great blog here. And also Jill Shalvis has a terrific blog here. Check ’em out if you have the chance. They are great.
And then I read an excerpt from CeCe’s new book, Dancehall Diaries: Lynette, that is now available for sale here. And that got me to thinking about writing something new and very different. So I started a new project. Wrote just over 1000 words on that. The new WIP’s tentative title is called Talk Dirty To Me. So at least it was a productive day.

Also, the Stars have re-signed Robidas.
In other team news, Roenick moves to the Kings and Forsberg goes to Philly! Interesting moves there. Wayne Gretzky will be coaching the Coyotes this year. And Todd Bertuzzi is reinstated to the Canucks after a 17-month suspension. (Bertuzzi sucker punched Avalanche player Steve Moore, shoving him face first into the ice and seriously injuring him. Steve Moore’s career is still in question.)
I can’t wait for the new season to start. It will be interesting to see all the changes the teams have made.
Hugs on the rejection. Now file it away, like in the trash, and KEEP WRITING. Start something new and get it out there, too.

Suck, Scmuck. YOU do not suck, as you are well aware! I know sometimes querying feels like this: :wall: but eventually you will find the fit. You just get to wait a bit. (Ooh, that rhymed!)
