I left work early around noon yesterday and drove home while it snowed. The school didn’t dismiss early so I had to wait around until 2:30 to pick up the baby boy. Then he insisted he needed gloves so we went to Target – since the roads were dry at that point – and I bought him some. And a hat. And tinsel for the tree. And Christmas balls. And a gingerbread house kit! WOO! We’re both excited about that one and plan to do it on Saturday.
It was bitterly cold last night so I decided it’d be a good time to put the tree up. Baby boy helped and did a smashing job. I decorated the mantle. Now all I need are presents under the tree.
Schools are opening on time today despite the fact it’s 25 degrees and the roads are slick. I am NOT looking forward to driving to the office in this, but I’m going to take my time. I’d rather get there in one piece and there are crazy folks on the road during these times. At least it’s supposed to be 50 today to melt off all that stuff.
Time to go. Gotta get the baby to school and me to work. Oh yeah, and mail my second mortgage payment (it’s still just SO cool).
Stay warm!
The bad weather’s hitting us here today, but the temperature hasn’t dropped as fast here as where you are.
It’s amazing to me that it can be in the 60s here, as it was yesterday, in the Northeast, and snowing in Texas!
I’m surprised they didn’t close the schools…but maybe they need snow on the ground to do that.
Our schools are out. We are supposed to get 12 inches by noon today.
Fun fun fun. :dead: Stay warm!
