My friend, Lara, tagged me with this so here goes!
One Book
One book that changed my life:
Hm. Hard to say. Changed my life as in, made me want to write? Changed my life as in life-altering decisions? There were really two books: “The Forgotten Beasts of Eld” by Patricia A. McKillip and “Road To Paradise Island” by Victoria Holt. Okay I know it’s cheating, but the first made me want to write fantasy and the second made me want to write romance.
One book that I have read more than once:
The Forgotten Beasts of Eld. I just love the book.
One book I would want on a desert island:
The Complete Far Side collection because – why not? There’s nothing else to do so may as well read the whole thing and LMAO.
One book that made me laugh:
Bridget Jones’ Diary (which reminds me.. I think I loaned that out and never got it back.. urgh)
One book that made me cry:
The Green Mile by Stephen King. I wept so hard I couldn’t see the pages anymore.
One book I wish I’d written:
I’m not sure. Maybe Outlander by Diana Gabaldon
One book that I’m currently reading:
Confessions of a Shopaholic – it’s hysterical
One book I’ve been meaning to read:
Oh I have a ton on the TBR pile, but the next one in line is the first book in the Madonna Key series called Lost Calling by Evelyn Vaughn
People I’m tagging: Amie, Dennie, Sandy J, Leigh, and Voodoo
Moving on…Â
Monday. Durgh. I worked on chapter 10 last night of Nice Girls. The bar at the right has moved up about 2000 words. I really like the way this story is going and I still seem to have some momentum. I stopped early and climbed into bed to read but was tired and fell asleep about 10:30.
I had restless dreams. And woke up in the middle of the night sweating so I stumbled out of bed and turned down the air. Back in bed, I fell asleep hard and had more restless dreams. I was not prepared for the alarm to go off this morning.
Had a good weekend with the baby boy. Took him school clothes shopping on Friday night and then on Saturday we went to get him new shoes. He wanted the kind that light up. Luckily, I found some at Payless (love that place!). He needed socks too and they had them 2 for $10. And since it was a tax-free weekend, I got all his school clothes tax-free. It’s really not a great savings but there’s such hype about it, you’d think you’d be a crazy not to go out and spend money.
I took him to the pool Saturday night after dinner. He had a blast. We didn’t stay too long as I was turning into a prune and the chlorine was making me itch. I got him in the tub when we got home and washed and dried his hair. I was so exhausted by the time I got him in bed, I laid down on the couch and passed out shortly after.
All in all it was a good weekend. Not much else to report so I guess I better get started.
:coffee:
Hmm — we’re both in a restless dream cycle. Wonder what that means? Sweet dreams to you tonight!
Hear, hear. I can’t sleep either. Our minds are too fertile!!! :gaw:
One book that made me cry:
The Green Mile by Stephen King. I wept so hard I couldn’t see the pages anymore.
I have never cried while reading a book with the exception of this one.And like you, I was crying so hard I couldn’t see to read. I was just sobbing. I don’t even like S. King as a rule, but this book was really special.
Okay! I’m it. I’m going to reply on my blog – http://www.blogcharm.com/thespinningpen
Hmm! A challenge, eh? Will show up on my blog sometime this week.
crap I just saw this! I’ll get to it this afternoon!
