Quote Du Jour:
Woke up, fell out of bed,
Dragged a come across my head.
Found my way downstairs and drank a cup
And looking up, I noticed I was late.
–A Day in the Life from Sgt’s Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, The Beatles
Thanks to everyone who came to chat last night (even my mommy came!). It was a lot of fun! We talked about everything from writing to opera to books and movies. Thanks, too, to Angela who asked lots of interesting questions. 🙂
I’m sleepy today. I didn’t want to get out of bed. Husband had to drive to Oklahoma City this morning so he was up early. (Why does 5:30 seem so much earlier than 6? It’s only a half an hour, but it seems like it’s too early.) So he was up this morning, turning on all the lights and making lots of noise. I buried my head under my pillow while he got ready to go. You’d think he could keep it down some. 😐
And, for whatever reason, little boy had a potty accident. First one in weeks. It was so bad I had to put him in the tub and this was about 30 minutes before the chat. So I had to hurry. I got him all cleaned up, washed his hair, and got him in his pjs, even though it was a mite early. Then this morning, he had totally wet the bed – something he hasn’t done since he stopped wearing pull-ups. So that made for a fun morning, getting his sopping wet clothes off of him, getting him cleaned up, and dressed. At least he was in a good mood this morning. That makes it a little easier.
He’s a good kid, really. He’s happy and he self-entertains for the most part, being an only child. He loves to play with his daddy though and when he’s out of town, he expects me to do the same. It just doesn’t work that way. I promised him a movie tonight when we get home, which means I’ll have to see one of our many Disney DVDs for the umpteenth time. That’s okay by me.
We tried to watch X-Men (the first one) the other night, but it was a little intense for him. So we had to turn it off. I forgot about some of the parts being a little scary. He watches Spiderman, though, with no problem. It’s becoming quite clear he likes the superhero movies. In fact, he’s been asking to go see Fantastic 4. We’ll probably wait for DVD (and it has the very cute Ioan Gruffudd (he was Lancelot in King Arthur).
And I’m excited to know the second and third Pirates of the Caribbean are being filmed as I write this. Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, and Keira Knightly are all returning for both movies with release dates of 2006 and 2007. I can’t wait!
On the writing front… I didn’t do much. I started an issue of the romance serial, but didn’t quite “feel†it so I put it aside. I managed to write about 1000 words on the new WIP and do some edits. I did a quick read-through, so I know what holes I have to fill in. Not much progress. Not good. 😕
If 1000 words doesn’t “count” as progress then I am SO SCREWED…
😉
The chat was fun! Hope you get more writing done today!
They weren’t quality words. 😉
Hee hee – know the feeling. A few years ago I think I had “The Lion King” memorized. I also watched it in interesting ways – my littlest niece had learned how to work the remote, so we fast forwarded it through “the scary parts” and watched the funny parts several times each. Made for a new twist!
So sorry I missed the chat! Was visiting the twins and they demand so much time! Plus my son’s computer is so slow and kicks me off everytime a call comes in. Couldn’t wait to get home to my DSL!
