Yesterday morning when I tried to go to work, my car wouldn’t start. Thankfully, the Man hadn’t left the driveway yet so I caught a ride with him.
The high was 110 by the way. And the same again today. They’re threatening rolling blackouts now. Sure. Go ahead. Cut off the power when it’s frigging 110 outside.
So I worried about the stupid car all day. Was it the battery? Was it something worse? (ie. something more expensive) When we finally got home, the Husband determined it was probably the battery. He managed to start it by jumping it off his truck. But it wouldn’t stay started. We took it back to AutoZone. Turns out, that battery wasn’t even two years old. They just swapped it out for free. Got the new one installed and everything seems just fine now. Thank goodness it wasn’t something worse. I blame the heat for the death of my battery.
That was my excitment for the day. ๐
Well, that and I made the best BLT sandwiches (which I can’t take credit for the idea – they were all the Man’s idea). BLT with guacamole on wheat bread. Wow. They were tasty.
I also managed to get some words in at lunchtime. The building I work in has this giant lobby with lots of little conversation places (sofas and chairs and tables) set up throughout. So I took my mini laptop, thumbdrive and cell phone, and tapped away on the keyboard in relative silence. It was great. Hopefully I can get back into the groove of things. In some ways, I don’t like starting a new book but in other ways, it’s so much fun to start a new book. I’m in the midst of writing two at the moment and they’re very different. This second Knight book is chockfull of Fae and elves and dragons and magic with romance, adventure, jousting and bad guys thrown in. The erotic futuristic is a lot of hot sex with a dash of the magic and space travel. ๐ Lots of fun to write.
Not much else going on. Just working and writing and working. And, oh, it’s Wednesday already?
We reached the dizzy heights of 18 degs C yesterday. Can you imagine?!

Mercury Retrograde, darling. Time for mechanical things to go kaplooey!
Keep at the writing.
So glad it’s working again! Stay cool!
