How about a sexy Tuesday Teaser of the forthcoming release, A Knight to Remember, Book 3 in the Realm of Honor Series? This is Maeve’s and Henry’s story and it’s oh-so-hot. Enjoy!
“Where were you going?” he demanded.
“I needed some air.”
“You’re not leaving these walls without me. It’s too dangerous.”
“You’re wounded and I’ll be fine.” She could still see the outline of his bandage under his tunic. The last thing she wanted was to reinjure him. He needed to recover and heal.
“You’re not leaving without me. Is that clear?”
“But you need your rest.”
“I’ve rested enough.” He shoved open the door and stepped inside.
She took one step then two backward. “Henry, you—”
“Want you. That is if you’re sober enough for me yet.” He kicked the door closed. His eyes raked boldly over her.
Maeve stiffened as the heat of desire warmed her. He was serious despite the imbecile she’d made of herself the night before. He still wanted her and she still wanted him. Her nerve-endings tingled and her body responded in a way she hadn’t felt in far too long.
“You intend to—”
“Kiss you. Seduce you. Make love to you.” He advanced toward her, closing the gap between them. She could feel the warmth of him radiating from him and around her, delighting her.
Could she allow this to happen? Could she give in to her passion, her need, her desire and be with Henry? She looked him over. His jaw had a determined set to it as he clenched it and she could see the yearning simmering under the surface of his eyes. The want, the need, the craving.
“Henry, I’m not sure we should do—”
“Screw that. You think I don’t know why you brought me here? We’re alone in this place, Maeve. No one can interrupt us here.” His hand slid around her waist and he gently pulled her to him. “I think deep down you wanted to be alone with me. You want this as much as I do.”
It had never crossed her mind until he’d put it that way. Her determination to have Henry with her stemmed from his gallant efforts to keep her safe at the palace. But mayhap deep down she did want him all to herself. She wanted to be isolated from others with him. Hearing the truth was a hard pill to swallow.
“I know under that icy exterior lies the heart of a sensual woman dying to claw her way out. I was with you when you were drunk. I know your true feelings for me.” His lips brushed hers.
Her heart pounded so hard she thought it would pump out of her chest. What had she said to him? Oh, gods. She remembered all of it now.
I want you. I want your hands and your mouth on me. All over me. Touching. Kissing.
He refused her. He was a man who would never take advantage of a woman when she was inebriated. She flushed, the tingling sensation sweeping up the back of her neck and across her face. But at the same time, her body ached for his touch. How had he managed to unlock her heart and soul in so short a time? He’d seen right past her frosty façade. It hadn’t deterred him. If anything, it encouraged him. As though she were a challenge he needed to conquer.
Her sober admission was she did want him. Despite the fact he was mayhap human. She’d grown suspicious when they made their way through the Sacred Forest and when Conn warned her he was not what he appeared. All Fae could see the spirit. Henry could not. She’d tried to suppress her feelings and make them go away. But try as she might they wouldn’t. They persisted. She could no longer deny them.
Still. She wouldn’t give in to him that easily.
“No more games.” A gentle demand and he meant it. Her body quivered in anticipation. He’d stoked a gently growing fire within her from embers to inferno.
“I don’t want to make your injury worse.” Her voice was but a faint whisper.
That wasn’t what she’d meant to say. She’d meant to tell him to go away. Go back to his room. To fend him off. But the fire within her burned deep and hot.
“You won’t.” To prove it to her, he stripped off his tunic and tossed it aside.
Her knees nearly buckled at the sight of his broad chest sprinkled with a dusting of hair. The bandage dominated most of his upper body but it was still a glorious upper body. One she wanted to run her hands over. To feel the curve of his muscles under her palms. To be crushed under his embrace.
“Undress for me.”
A demanding request. No one had ever dared speak to her like that. She’d been with men who would placate her, follow her lead, do as she commanded even between the sheets.
Not Henry. He was in charge and he knew it.
“Do it or I rip it off you.”
The very thought of that sent a delicious shimmer through her. She tilted her head and teased him. “Would you do that to your queen?”
His face softened as one eyebrow rose and a smile played at the corners of his mouth. “I’d rather my queen undress for me of her own volition.”
I’m imparting this is an awesome excerpt. ox
Thanks! 🙂
