Progress bar:
So here I am just over the 60k mark and trying to keep the book on track. It’s sort of kicking my ass right now because I realized my hero needs a heftier backstory. And I’m trying to make too many connections with too many of the characters and it’s not working. Here’s a word of advice: never write a dual timeline and then send all your characters back in time thereby converging the two timelines. It, like, hard (post more about writing being hard tomorrow). Lordy. And today instead of adding words, I subtracted words which is NOT the right direction. Here’s hoping for a better tomorrow.
Anyway, here is this week’s teaser:
Relief spread on her face. “Oh, thank you. I am quite tired. It’s been a difficult time.” She reached into the pocket on her gown and brought out the vial of Tears of the Dryad. Fiona’s heart skipped a beat.
“What’s lovely. What is it?” she asked nodding to it.
“Faery dust.” The girl grinned and shook it up. “Isn’t it lovely?”
“Quite. May I see it?” She held out her hand.
Winnie was about to place it in her palm when there was a sharp knock on the door. She put it back in her pocket. Damn the luck.
When the girl opened the door, she heard her uncertain voice. “Your Highness?”
Fiona melted behind the bed, trying her best to hide. Even though she had her true appearance hidden behind a glamour, she didn’t want to take any chances. She heard the door slam.
“You think to refuse me,” Prince Cian said.
