This weekend didn’t turn out as I planned. Due to many scheduling conflicts, though, I had to cancel dinner plans and I had to miss my RWA meeting Saturday morning. I was disappointed.
So instead, I took the kiddo to his basketball game. He played really hard and the game ended in a tie. Afterward, we stopped at Sonic for burgers and then that afternoon, we went to see the movie Tangled. I totally loved that movie. It’s on m instant to-by list as soon as it hits DVD. It was funny and fun and even the kiddo was cracking up during it. So next on our list to see is Tron. 🙂
It was a fairly nice day on Saturday but by the time Sunday came alone, it started off with lots of rain early in the morning. It rained most of the morning, which later turned to snow flurries. We didn’t get any accumulation, though, but the streets are wet and the temps are plummeting into the 20s for the low. That means the possibility of icy roads (not sure how it’ll turn out since, at the time of this writing, it’s the night before *grin*). The problem with that is, everything shuts down and if you’re brave enough to get on the roads, people drive stupid. I’d rather stay home where it’s warm and safe.
We’ll see what the school does…
So we mostly hung around the house Sunday since the weather was yucky. I did have to run to the store for a few items for dinner. I waited in line longer than it took me to shop. There wasn’t many people on the road but everyone was at the store in the checkout line it seemed. Plus, it really drives me nuts when people in the “15 or less items” line and they have a cart full of stuff…not to mention there’s a growing line behind them.
I roasted a chicken using a Barefoot Contessa recipe. It was very easy and the chicken turned out so yummy! I was very pleased with the results. 🙂 It’s definitely a keeper recipe.
On the writing front, I managed to read through all 180 pages of my time travel and I noticed the characters did a lot of stomping and glaring and growling. haha So That will definitely have to change once I get through the first draft. I keep intended to write a synopsis to figure out where I am and where I’m going (one of my things on my list of things I want to do better at) but I haven’t don’t it yet.
So for this week my writing project is to get the synopsis done and start writing new words again.
Oh, and I’ve been asked to be a speaker at one of the chapters a couple of hours drive from here. I accepted! I’ll be speaking to them in March and I’m really looking forward to that. I was excited to be asked.
Okay – that’s it for me. Hopefully the roads are bad this morning and we’ll be able to get out of the neighborhood.
Congrats on all the work you’ve done on the book and the speaking gig!
Drive safe!!!!
