What to Read While You Wait for More Crossroads Magic
If you’ve already stepped through the Crossroads with Petals & Portals, you may be wondering what to read next while Piper, Owen, Willow, Tani, and the Red Queen recover from all the magical nonsense currently unfolding in Hickory Hollow.
The good news?
The Crossroads may begin in a small Texas town, but the magic reaches much farther than Enchanted Blossoms.
Petals & Portals opens a brand-new doorway in the Enchanted Realms universe—a modern-day spinoff where magic hides in flower shops, old trees, family secrets, cursed objects, fairy queens, and portals that absolutely refuse to behave.
But if you’re craving more enchanted romance, fairy-tale chaos, dangerous magic, and heroines stepping into legacies they never expected, there are plenty of other doors waiting for you.
Here’s what to read while you wait for more Crossroads magic.

If you loved Piper inheriting a magical legacy…
Start with Once Upon an Ancient Curse.
This Red Riding Hood-inspired novella has old magic, dangerous woods, wolves, secrets, and a heroine pulled into a legacy much bigger than she imagined. It’s a perfect next read if you loved watching Piper discover that her aunt’s life was far more magical—and far more dangerous—than anyone knew.
Expect curses, hidden truths, romantic tension, and the feeling that fairy tales are never quite as simple as they seem.

If you loved the enchanted relics and cursed magic…
Read Once Upon an Enchanted Castle.
Inspired by Beauty and the Beast, this story brings you a cursed prince, a lonely castle, dangerous old magic, and a heroine brave enough to look beyond the monster everyone else fears.
If the magical artifacts, ancient enchantments, and otherworldly danger in Petals & Portals made you want more, this is a wonderful next step into the Enchanted Realms.
Also: cursed castle. Brooding prince. Romance. Enough said.
If you loved the darker secrets beneath the cozy magic…
Try Once Upon a Midnight Dreary.
This gothic fairy-tale romance is perfect if you liked the shadowy side of Petals & Portals—the secrets, the strange inheritance, the sense that a house can hold memories, grief, and danger in its walls.
Inspired by Poe’s The Raven, this one has a haunted manor, restless ghosts, family secrets, and a romance that has to survive the darkness.
It’s moodier, more gothic, and deliciously atmospheric.

If you loved the portals and other realms…
Pick up Once Upon a Silver Strand.
This Rapunzel-inspired story has towers, stars, portals, destiny, and magic reaching across realms. If the Crossroads made you curious about what waits beyond the veil, this is a beautiful next read.
It gives you that same sense of wonder: the feeling that the world is bigger than anyone realizes, and that one choice can open the door to everything.

If you loved fairy-tale royalty and enchanted danger…
Read Once Upon True Love’s Kiss.
This Snow White-inspired romance has royal danger, hidden magic, a powerful curse, and love worth fighting for. It’s a great choice if the Red Queen’s arrival in Hickory Hollow made you want more fairy-tale royalty, magical intrigue, and enchanted peril.
Because in the Enchanted Realms, queens are rarely simple.
And magic always has a cost.
The Crossroads is only the beginning
One of my favorite things about writing Petals & Portals was opening the door between the modern world and the wider Enchanted Realms universe.
Hickory Hollow may look like an ordinary small town, but it sits at a threshold—a place where worlds brush too close together. That means anything can wander through.
Fairy queens. Wonderland royalty. Ancient relics. Demons. Secrets Alice probably should have explained a little sooner.
So while you wait for more Crossroads magic, you can step into the rest of the Enchanted Realms and discover the fairy tales, curses, castles, forests, ghosts, portals, and romances already waiting there.
Because the Crossroads may be in Hickory Hollow…
…but the magic reaches everywhere.
