I have no idea where to start this blog entry today. So I guess I’ll just start with the first thing that comes to my mind.
I spent a good portion of time updating my website this weekend. It was in need and so I went forth and conquered.
I also set up the “official” Ransom and Fortune site, as designed by the talented publisher from Inara Press. You can check that out here. I love it. I love it. LOVE! IT!
I wrote my personal newsletter and sent it out to my subscribers. It was chock-full o’ news. So, for all those that subscribe and read my blog, hope you enjoyed.
Saturday afternoon was spent yakking with Nickie and Jane for our second show of The Collective You. Hilarity ensued. We are now available on iTunes, so if you’re hooked up there, just do a search for collectiveyou (note the no space)Â under Podcast and you’ll find us.
Sunday I took it easy. Or tried to. Keeping up with a very active 4 1/2 year old though i sometimes a challenge. We went all sorts of places and saw all sorts of people. He informed me I needed to get my car washed, so we went through the gas station car wash. It wasn’t all that dirty and I didn’t want to pay for a detail. He sat in the front seat with me during the washing of the vehicle with his ears covered, meowing like a cat. He told me after he wasn’t afraid because he was pretending to be a cat during it. Ooookay.
The mind of a child… Took him to Barnes & Noble on Saturday and bought him a first reader book – Curious George. He read the entire thing in the backseat on the way back to my brother’s house. I was amazed. He knows and understands the story and the big words. It still amazes me. No doubt he’s ready for kindergarten!
I also endeavored to paint my patio furniture. These were mine when I was single the first time around and had a loft apartment way back when. I didn’t have room for them in the house I shared with the ex-husband, so I gave the chairs and table to my mother. Since they’ve been outside for years, they began to rust. And when her house got painted, there were white paint drips on them. So I figured now would be as good a time as any to paint them.
Anyway, so I painted. I had a drop cloth down, but I still made a huge gigantic mess. And by the time I was as done as I could be, the bottoms of my feet were green. I took a bath, thinking I could get it all off. Which I did. However, it left nice green stains in the bottom of my tub. :plain:
Oh well. It’s a rental. 😉
Not much else happening. I will be on a strict budget as of the first of this month. NO MORE FRIVOLOUS SPENDING. And by that I mean…a hiatus on purchasing shoes. 😥 Ah well. It’s for a good cause.
Tomorrow is a holiday and I’m so looking forward to doing nothing all day. I’ve been so tired lately and I think it’s because I’ve been pushing myself to do more and more things.
All righty…off for more :coffee: Happy Monday, ya’ll.Â
Nailpolish remover is very good for getting paint off.
Happy Monday, Michelle. And happy Fourth of July. Everyone has today off because July 1st is Canada day, so our holidays are pretty close! Isn’t painting fun?
