….the second you resolve yourself to NOT spending any money, you think of everything in the world you need or want?
For instance…
My car needs (yeah, right, needs)Â tinted windows: $269 (but it’s a lifetime warranty and if it peels or bubbles it get replaced for free!)
I want to get XM installed: $255
Annual subscription to XM: $125
A mug from starbucks: $3.99 on sale
I really want a new blender: $65
I got a 20% off thing in the mail from JCPenney: Unknown dollar amount since I could spend as much as $3000
There’s this cute little skirt I want at Victoria’s Secret: $39 plus shipping
Shoes, always shoes: Unknown
Pedicure:$25
Haicut: $45
Research books for something new I’m doing: $25 to get the free shipping
Christmas gifts: okay so I know it’s a little early but if I don’t start now, then I won’t be able to afford it.
I could go on.
But I’ve been a good girl. I stayed home last night. I baked a peach cobbler and it made the entire apartment smell divine. I watched an episode of Sex and the City. I drank a beer and made pizza. It was a nice evening. I do have XM radio on my satellite, so I listened to that while I tooled around the house and baked.
I forgot how much I love backing. Especially the cobbler. It’s such a simple recipe. I think maybe this next weekend, I’ll get all the stuff to make my famous fudgie brownies and take them to the office to torture everyone. After all, I can’t have all that yummy stuff in the house with me, can I?
I’m exhausted it seems. I toss and turn at night. Haven’t had a decent night’s sleep in three nights. And then at 3:00 pm, I start to bonk. I can hardly keep my eyes open. And it’s been a hectic few days at the office too. I’m so wiped out when I get home, the creative brain can’t get going.
I’m really hoping I don’t bonk today. I’m tired of being tired. So I started taking some vitamins to help me out in that department. Now, if I can only remember to take them…
Not much writing done. The brain is blasted so hope to get back on track with that very soon. And time for work. It’s Thursday! Everybody works on Thursday! (Quick – what movie is that from?)
It’s from the movie ‘Dave’ with Kevin Kline and Sigurney Weaver and the quote is ‘It’s Monday and everyone works on Monday’.
Did I win? What’d I win? Huh, huh, what’d I win?
