If you’re on Facebook, my latest release was featured over at the group Love Romances. Check it out here!
I love progress. I love seeing progress happen. Especially when I’m writing or cross-stitching.
I’ve been writing every day at lunch and getting between 1500 and 1800 words. Then I come home and attempt to write for another hour. It’s only an hour but I am making progress. Yesterday I wrote 2889 for the day! I was so pleased. My total word count so far on the time travel is 56,600 and I’m shooting for 80-90k. I have lots of story to write yet so I know I’ll hit that target date. I figure if I can write at least 2000 words a day, the first draft will be finished in about 2 weeks. It’s my goal anyway. I want the revised draft to be out to my CPs by March 1. While they read, I’m going to get back to the space opera. That’s the plan anyway.
I wish I could write faster. Sometimes I feel like I’m running out of time. It’s frustrating. My gemini twins are at war with each other. The patient one is the one writing on the current WIP and going at a steady pace. The impatient one wants to write on all the others ideas running around in my head. It’s a terrible duality. Sometimes I want to shout STOP IT! Both of you! It’s quite painful being a gemini sometimes.
I’ve also been working on my moonlit cabin (my cross stitch project) and it’s starting to actually look like something. I’ve nearly finished a big section on the right side of the picture. The trees are tricky because they’re black half stitches and I’m stitching on midnight blue Aida cloth. Which means I have a super hard time seeing the actual stitches. This project is likely going to make me blind. ๐
Last night I ventured out to Best Buy to get a new keyboard for my computer because I’ve worn off several of the letters. D, V, B, C, M, L, G… they’re all missing. Good thing I know my home row keys and how to type. ๐ (I wonder what I’m typing so much with those letters to wear them off?) The store didn’t have the Microsoft 6000 keyboard I wanted. They only had a crappy Logitech that I didn’t want. And I’m picky. I want ergonomic because I spend so much time typing and because I’ve gotten so used to it I can’t type on anything else. Instead, I bought a mini mouse for my HP Mini (okay I just giggled when I typed mini mouse; I’m easily amused). I had $10 off so the mouse ended up costing me only $5. I love when that happens.
Then came home to find two new books on my doorstep: Darklight and Tempestuous by Lesley Livingston. I’m looking forward to reading them!
Made homemade quesadillas and then wrote and stitched. Who says life isn’t grand?
And by the way, I will be SO happy when the Super Bowl is over. That’s all the news has talked about for freaking months. They even had a countdown for the last 365 days and I’m not kidding. Plus ESPN is converging on my town and closing down several streets in downtown. I’m SO not looking forward to THAT. (Despite my complaints, Man and I have already made plans to visit ESPN while in Sundance Square in downtown Fort Worth this weekend…hahaha). So HEY if you watch ESPN and you see Sundance Square – that’s my town! And that Starbucks across from them on Houston Street is the one Man and I walked to every single day on our coffee break and after lunch (when we still worked together). I love Fort Worth. So way totally better than Dallas. I can say that because I grew up in Dallas. ๐
Happy Wednesday, ya’ll.
Congrats on the writing! That’s great. It’s always fun to watch the pages pile up, even when you just do an hour or two each day. But they do stack up.
Oh, that’s right, the Super Bowl is in your area this year. You poor thing!
I bet you’re going to be celebrating when it’s all over! I am just excited to watch it. ๐ GO PACKERS!!!
Way to go on the writing! You will do it!!!
